Readerware 2.984 for Linux

Readerware is available for Linux. Downloads include all Linux versions of Readerware, ReaderwareVW and ReaderwareAW. Please review the Readerware Release Notes before installing.

Linux Downloads

• Full Install (38MB) - This file includes Readerware and the Java VM, everything you need to run all Readerware products. If you already have a Java VM installed, (most Linux distributions now include Java), you can use the upgrade install instead. Primary Download Site - Secondary Download Site

  To install decompress the downloaded file, rware.tar.gz:

  gunzip rware.tar.gz
tar -xvf rware.tar

  This will create a readerware directory in the current directory.
• Upgrade Install (6MB) - The only difference between the full install and the upgrade install is that the full install includes the Java VM. This installer is for users who already have Readerware or a Java VM installed and will install the latest versions of all Readerware products on your system.   To install decompress the downloaded file, downloads/rwupd.tar.gz:

  gunzip rwupd.tar.gz
tar -xvf rwupd.tar

  This will create a readerware directory in the current directory.

Minimum System Requirements

• Pentium processor or better
• 32 megabytes (MB) of RAM (64 MB or higher recommended)
• At least 30 MB of free disk space

For best results a screen resolution of at least 800 by 600 and more than 256 colors is recommended. As usual more memory equals better performance.

The Readerware ReadMe and the Readerware Release Notes contain additional information for all users. Both are included in the download distribution.
