Readerware CD
Many of you have asked lately if it is possible to get
Readerware on CD. Finally the answer is yes. Just in
time for the holidays too! So if you have been wondering
what to get that book lover or collector this year,
Readerware could be the answer. Readerware makes a great
gift and you can place on order online at the web site.
The Readerware CD includes not just Readerware for
Windows but all the other versions too. Plus it includes
the Java runtimes for Linux, Solaris etc. Everything you
need to run Readerware on all supported platforms.
The Readerware for the Palm Pilot CD includes all the
above plus Palm support.
You will receive the Readerware CD packaged in a
virtually indestructible ClamShell TrimPak. Durable but
flexible, the clear Polyethylene case stores the CD
securely. Much tougher than jewel cases.

the address you provide to the payment registration service.
If you want it shipped to another address or have special
instructions , please e-mail sales@readerware.com

Readerware 1.91
Readerware 1.91 is the latest release available. There have been a few bug fixes and
some minor enhancements since the last newsletter. Nothing major but I recommend that
you upgrade to the latest version.
One useful enhancement, it is now possible
to scan your books outside of Readerware. Just create a text file of bar code
scans using your favorite text editor. Then select File->Open Auto Catalog List from
the Readerware menu. Readerware loads in the file and converts
the bar code scans to ISBNs. Then you can continue with auto-catalog as normal.
Why would you want to scan your books outside of Readerware? One
reason is that there are now portable bar code readers available so instead of
dragging your books off their shelves and to your computer to scan them, take your
bar code reader to your books.

Happy Birthday!
Readerware passed the one year mark recently and some of you have been
there since day one so you know the tremendous changes and enhancements
made to the product over the last year. If you want a release by release
recap, check out the news sections of the web site:
And that's just the beginning.
Most of this was covered in the last edition of the newsletter but
there are so many new subscribers lately that I wanted to make sure
you all knew what was happening with Readerware.
As you have probably noticed recent Readerware releases have
been focusing on stabilizing the product and fixing problems
as we run into them. But that doesn't mean it has been
exactly quiet around here lately, far from it. Parallel
development is proceeding with the next major release of
Readerware. All the common requests for new features have
been incorporated and all will be revealed in a about a month.
Also I am working on some new products. You haven't been
shy in suggesting other products that could benefit from
Readerware technology and there are a number of new products
under development. It's too early to go into detail, but
look for the first new products to appear before the end of
the year.
Support Readerware
You can support Readerware and ensure that the new features keep on coming. Use
Readerware when making your online purchases. If you order using the Readerware
browser or shopping cart, Readerware normally receives a commission from the vendor.
The Readerware browser uses the same encryption technology as the major browsers so
you can order online, safely and securely using Readerware. Plus it ensures continued
development of Readerware.
Thank you.
